By allowing and encouraging parents to drop by during the day unannounced, we can build trust and opportunities to have the families involved with our program. We need to use communication, allow the families to volunteer and serve as advocates for the children and let them serve on our board.

Lastly, we can share valuable information with our families about their children, the program itself and the resources that we have available for them. Some examples might be everyday information on the development of their child’s and the activities they participated in during the day. By holding regular conferences on the child’s progress and hosting events that show off their child’s work. By communicating and showing them we are compassionate and open to others opinions we can then start making decisions on how to handle the situation. At the same time we need to show respect and show them that we truly care by listening to their concerns and suggestions. We need to be supportive and show we understand where they are coming from and what they are looking for, By us building good communication skills it will help us build stronger relationships with those who we work with and anyone around us. The first observation I did was at the Esmelda daycare, this daycare is a family daycare there the woman and husband showed me what they did every day they said that the toddler had hours for everything like what time they eat, how much time they had to play. Esmelda daycare promote language through play time she has book that help the toddlers learn the different animal or the ABC the woman would read the book to toddler by pointing to animal or letter and saying what it was she would also promote language by playing with the toys like counting how many Lego blocks there is or by saying the color of the toy right now. Esmelda daycare is not fully completed with all the material the toddlers need they are in process, but still not being a fully completed daycare you can see that the women and the husband take really good care of children when I was there as she was taking to me if the children need something she would stop and put attention to what the children need instead of just keep taking to me and ignored the child. Compare to the second observation did where each children age group has his own in Esmelda daycare see has all the children together he also has the toy room apart where they just go play when is play time and can’t go in until is play time again.…

Today, non-parental care is showing to be a great alternative for many parents who require time from home in order to attend school or go to work. Children who are around other children their age can learn and grow from one another. Children who are not socialized in the early years of their development will grow up lack skills to meet new faces and develop friendship and will tend to be shy unlike children who socialized during their tender ages (Bojczyk, Shriner & Shriner, 2012).…

There are many ways of working in partnership with parents and these allow the needs of the child to come first and be dealt with most effectively: Staff communicate daily with parents about a child's individual needs. When dropping the child off, staff normally enquire about how the child is, how they slept and ate, etc. The parents will share any new information or concerns about the child and visa versa. This is one of the most important aspects of our partnership with parents as it allows us to work closely together, communicate any important information and make sure that information is shared and each child's needs are met.…
