Team Working Importance

The importance of team working is showed not only in the work place, but also in other domains that characterised our life, like in sports or in schools. Working in teams involves many aspects that a person must take in account in order to keep the team effectiveness very high.
This essay will first consider the importance of communication for the the division of responsibilities and its effects in team work performance.
Secondly, this assignment will look into the concept of goals within a team, with a consideration of a personal experience working in a team made at university for the course Management development Programme; a further description of the formation of this team will be made, highlighting how the differences between the members

The latest experience I have got working in a group, is at university for the course Management Development Programme; every week there is a group activity to hand in class, and the teachers do not evaluate the single student, but they determine the quality of our work as a team. There are not precise goals in the team, as a consequence the overall team performance is very scarce and the projects are not finished in time, in addition the job commitment is not the same for every member of the team. There are only individual goals and everybody minds his own interests. A team must have precise goals, and as Woolley (2009) states, a goal-focused team may perform better also in dynamic environments …show more content…
In the case of the MDP, the process of recruitment and selection was not very clear; with the purpose of providing a better understanding of selection and recruitment, I will mention another team work experience, that unfortunately is not very recent in time. First, it is valuable that we consider the difference of recruitment and selection. Recruitment refers to the activity that a firm undertakes to attract possible candidates to replace an employee, instead selecting is the final part where an employer decides which candidate is the most suitable for the position (Wilton Nick 2012).
Three years ago I used to work in a pub as a bartender, and I was aware of the vacant position thanks to the recommendation of a member of my family.
