ne of the main function of language is communication, and verbal communication and written communication are the primary methods in people’s personal and career communication lives. American futurist, John Naisbitt, in his book Megatrends asserted that although in the twenty-first high technology century, advanced technology can never replace the human’s verbal and written communications (Naisbitt). It means verbal and written communications have their own strengths such as humorous and reaction capability. Communication in the job market often involves verbal expression and written communication, and they have considerable impacts on personal and career success. As Franklin’s statement, quality verbal and written communications skills are especially important in the job market, because the workplace is an inseparable place with the time distribution. So, people with efficient working are treated more professional. For example, a worker writes a lot of contents to his coworker, and the coworker use a lot of time to review and summarize it. However, the coworker does not get the core content and it makes coworker to ask him for the same content requirement again. It obvious makes people to doubt his professional competence. On the contrary, someone uses a few words but express effectively, it obviously saves both sender and receiver’s time. A journal, which analyzes the relationship between poor verbal and writing skills and communication in the workplaces, shows the employees’ perception that they are unwilling to follow with poor writers’ commands, because employees doubt their professional expertise (“Causes of Poor Writing and Communication in the Workplace”). First, people with good verbal and written communications skills are more attractive than other people. In general, people with good verbal and written communication skills are humor, because they have a vast choice of words source. They know how to choose the most proper word to express the same meaning so that they easily make a comfortable atmosphere and promote people’s emotional communications. In this humorous environment, other people concentrate on the humors people’s topic unawares. This will bring the second positive effect, more persuasiveness, on improving self-confidence. Due to people are willing to focus on good writers or people have good verbal skills, their speeches or statements are more persuasiveness. When people use proper words to express their opinion especially in a tense atmosphere, shows their tolerance and courtesy. For example, when people argue with someone, but he is so rude to use the irritating words to the other people. It makes other people only angry about it. Instead, when people use the proper words to clearly make a point of the problem and list the different ideas as the solutions of the problem, it will make people more acceptable and at least solve a problem under the good atmosphere.
