It is fair to say that college is an overall experience outside of the classroom that includes socializing, experimenting with personal values. Even though there are things that can be learned outside of the classroom on campus, getting a job and dealing with people in the professional world would be the better learning experience.
If college tuition was free or at least not as costly, enrolling in college would never be a bad investment. It would be worth trying and finishing for perhaps everyone. However the fact is that college is a double edged sword. College debt is ruining lives financially and putting pressure of young adults to study material that can translate immediately into a job that repays debts and does not bring about passion. Employers want students with real world experience and who demonstrate interest in their field and who exhibit dedication and responsibility. Work experience and a college education are two independent and almost equal factors when determining whether you are eligible for getting a job. This is why working straight out of high school or resuming college at a later time to make room for work is a plausible idea. You will lose nothing, but you will most definitely gain experience and possibly and even more importantly a passion that you would maybe not find in
