Life in college is quite interesting because there are so many interesting things in college. I found that there would be more free time to do the things I like, study whatever major I like and possibly find a part-time job and make money to buy something that I had never be able to afford back into my high school life. Even though college seems like a paradise for me, it is still a place for me to make academic progress and to pursue becoming a successful college student. In addition, without my parents’ guardianship, I need to be more responsible for myself. In order to be a successful student in college, I need to have self-discipline, thoughtfulness, and thriftiness. There are lots of story show me that a college student who made wrong decision will definitely resulted in a wasted college life no matter how smart he/she is. As my host mom said “Think before you do.”, I keep this advice from my host-mom at all time. It is crucial to make wise decision at all time. Here is another story of my friend. He is a really talented guy in fashion design. I was quite appreciate his design and his taste about fashion design and we had many contact back into the time in art school. Unfortunately, he made a wrong decision in his life; he chosen to smoke weeds. I was shocked when I found this because he was too talented to make that decision. After a few months, he told me that he was expelled form school because he caught abusing and selling weeds, and having a hard time finding another school. It was quite a pity for him to be expelled from school without his potential being fully developed. He will not be able to graduate on time, it’s a waste on both time and money, the two precious things that he could used to enhance his skills and living environment. This story of my friend is telling me that I am the only person who make decisions that will ultimately impact my life.
