In order to achieve program goals, it is essential for the school to collect data to prove program achievement which is vital for performance measures. Therefore by benchmarking the performance of the school, the school will gain information to improve the quality, delivery, and cost of the school. The school selects data based on availability, accuracy, cost, and timeliness. The school uses performance measurement to connect resources and program performance, and to use information gained to improve services. Additionally, when considering data it is necessary to remember the three r’s of good data. They are reliable, relevant and representative.
