Overall I would say that I had a very successful observation. My teacher was very welcoming and answered any questions that I had. I feel as though I learned a lot from her. On my first day she handed me a folder with different sheets of paper that had information about her classroom, herself, and things they would accomplish that year. She also had a welcome note for me expressing how she was so excited to be able to share her classroom with me. I think as a future teacher it really shows a lot about your character as a teacher when you are that excited to let someone in your classroom. My teacher showed me not just how to be a teacher but also how to love teaching. Through my field hours I learned that not every day is going to be the easiest days. There were some days that I was in the classroom and the kids were buck wild. They were all over the place and not wanting to focus. In my opinion the teacher did a very good job of controlling the classroom. For example one day when I was in the classroom one of the students was being disruptive and started crying because she got frustrated. The teacher walked over to her desk and said “no ma’am you will not cry 10, stop the tears you are okay 9, we are not going to do this 8, you are not in trouble 7, and by the time she had gotten to 6 the student had stopped crying. Obviously this was something that the teacher had done in the past with the student. I was just so amazed at how well it worked. In my class at UAB we always talked about having classroom management and learning what works best for certain students. Another thing my teacher did to control the class room was sing a song. When she would start to sing the song the other students would chime in and sing it. I was also amazed at how the students would automatically stop what they were doing and sing this song. By the end of the song everyone was silent. Since I am going to be a teacher one day it is
