Inclusive Society Research Paper

Classification is the process of organizing a society by grouping together individuals with shared characteristics such as race, class, and gender. Human beings have the propensity to classify groups of people and rely on classification to organize their societies and cultures; these classifications help to give meaning to different groups and maintain the order of society. Although there is nothing inherently wrong with classification, this process becomes problematic and even dangerous when it is used to create a stratification system which devalues certain groups and give an advantage to others based simply on certain aspects of their identity. Each citizen or immediate family is assigned to land with a house and depending on the money they earn they can decorate, renovate their land while staying within the parameters of their land. This legislation will require towns to be demographically diversified by assigning people/families to households so that each neighborhood has at least four ethnicities represented in them. If a homeowner would like to relocate to a new house, they must fill out a legal form that states the reason that they would like to move. The acceptable reasoning for wanting to relocate to a different neighborhood includes needing better access to public transportation due to a physical disability or the distance to their job. By implementing a quota system to maintain a certain level of diversity in towns and neighborhoods, by default, public schools in each town will also be more diverse and children all the way up to elderly people will have the opportunity to continually build tolerance for cultural differences as well as other differences that comprise one’s …show more content…
These universal institutions will be funded through the government as well as taxes. In addition to a universal healthcare system, and a universal housing system, I believe that creating a universal education system will be one of the most effective ways of creating and reproducing equality as I have described.
