Examples of those psychologist are Jean Piaget, Havighurst, Kohlberg and Norman J Bull. Both Kohlberg and Jean Piaget theory is based on moral reasoning. Piaget advocates that knowledge is built and rebuilt when a person interact with their surroundings(environment). Piaget deprived this theory from children’s interactions in game playing. He discovered that moral development is a process which can be broken into two stages known as Heteronomous morality and autonomy morality. Heteronomous morality takes place in children aged 3 to 8 years and includes moral realism, egocentrism and absolutism.
Piaget states that younger children see morality in terms of rules, i.e. they are fixed and unalterable and this is known as absolutism.
