“Profit is necessary. Without profit a business cannot survive. It will not provide a return for the owners and investors who take risks to keep it going”. It is important to reward those who have helped you start the business or those who have taken risks to keep the business running. While making profit should not be the main goal of any organization, it is necessary to have profits to continue the business. Christians can also use their profits to help benefit others, they can support organizations and charities that are near to their hearts. Christians is business should also have other goals and motivations like to provide goods and services that enhance the lives of individuals and their community around them. Christians need to make sure that their products are enhancing other people’s lives and not damaging it. “The simple fact that someone will buy a product is not enough justification for Christians to produce”. Just because the thing that one is producing is enjoyed by many people does not mean that it should be produced. Things like illegal drugs or pornography are in high demand but are very harmful. Business is especially responsible to their customers, they are responsible to provide a safe and enjoyable product that is useful to their lives. What we sell and the ways that we sell to our customers is a major aspect of being in business. We need to be honest and sincere in the ways we conduct business. “Our emphasis should be on products that products lasting benefit and that really enhance life rather than on those that simple respond to status wants and consumer orientation”. God wants us to enjoy life and by creating services or products that enhance that is something that God desires us to do. While some people take advantage of this and create many things that are enjoyable, but not beneficial towards society.
