The wealth of the country is not so much in its economical and natural resources but in the children whom will be the creators and shapers of the future. It is rather imperative for every country and society to nurture a strong, healthy and intellectual youth. Many of these programs currently in place today are frequently debated. One of the most debated and most labored over the children is protective service. “The purpose of the prevention programs were to provide protection to children not by changing the family, but by educating or separating the child from the family” (Hirschy & Wilkinson, 2010). Many government programs provide money, medical care, food, housing, and other things that other things that parents or guardians need to …show more content…
According to the Human Services Department of Santa Cruz (2017), “Child Protective Services provides protection for children who are at risk of , or are experiencing physical, sexual or emotional abuse, or emotional or physical neglect” (para. 1). Therefore, the government has created many programs to help build its youth into anchors of tomorrow.
