The Importance Of Characters In Melinda's Social Studies Teacher

Decent Essays
One character I enjoy having in this book is Mr.Freeman , Melinda's art teacher . One reason i enjoy having Mr.Freeman in this book is because he isn't like normal teachers . He makes his students think harder , imagine , overall try harder . He also isn't rude , I believe he sees something positive in all his students . He is just a really unique character & i believe he’ll be a big part of the book because Melinda’s word was tree & for some reason there is a tree on the front of the book .

On the other hand , one character i do not enjoy having in the book is Mr.Neck , Melinda’s Social Studies teacher . There are many reasons why I don’t enjoy having him in this book , He's such a negative person . He thinks the worst out of Melinda

Both Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones from Thank You Ma’am by Langston Hughes and the mother from Black Boy by Richard Wright, have the characteristic of authoritarianism. This trait is positive in Mrs. Jones, however, it is negative in the mother. Both the wife in The Snows of Kilimanjaro by E. Hemingway, and Mr. Cooper from the Minister’s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne have the characteristic of determination.
