Have you ever really wanted to change places with a character in a story or a movie that you loved? In the play Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Hamlet struggles a whole lot with his life. Hamlet’s father was killed by his brother, King Claudius, and then he ended up marrying Hamlet’s mother and taking the throne when Hamlet was the next in line for it. Hamlet is extremely angry and depressed throughout the course of this play and is aiming for revenge on his uncle Claudius. I would love to change places with Hamlet because I would like to see what it’s like to experience all the struggles that Hamlet is going through.
Prince Hamlet has been extremely disconsolate since the very beginning of this play. There is absolutely no possible way of changing the way he is at this point because he has just gone into a crazy state of mind. It all began when Hamlet came home from school in Germany to attend his father’s funeral. After the funeral, there was a meeting with the people of the Kingdom of Denmark where King Claudius announced his marriage to Queen

I would love to experience what it is like to see a ghost. Would it be frightening or fascinating? The first ones to see the ghost of Hamlet’s father were Horatio, Marcellus, and Barnardo. When Hamlet is with the ghost of his father, he is told how he was killed and who killed him. King Claudius killed him and at that very moment, Hamlet wanted to seek revenge. I could imagine the emotions Hamlet is going through at this part of the play. He is depressed and angry about what Claudius has done to his father. If I were Hamlet, I would be furious and want to get revenge immediately as well. “Haste me to know it, that I with wings as swift, As meditation or the thoughts of love, May sweep to my revenge” (1.5.35-37). Hamlet tells his father to unfold more details about the crime his uncle commited, so he can plan his revenge and kill his

Claudius takes over as the king of Denmark, and after Hamlet is told by the ghost of his father that Claudius is responsible, Hamlet becomes infuriated. The ghost instructs Hamlet to get revenge on Claudius, saying “Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder” (1.5.25). Hamlet tells of a prince, although living in luxury and opulence, exhibits tremendous pain for the death of his father and king. Furthermore, the excerpt from Divisadero also introduces the variety of catastrophes that plague the life of Marie-Neige, an illiterate wife to a criminal and a standalone farmer. Additionally, Marie’s misfortune includes her husband’s imprisonment, the death of her unborn child, and her penniless financial situation. Although both Hamlet and Marie suffer hardships, Marie perseveres and demonstrates here ability to endure even the most horrific circumstances while Hamlet’s character reveals his almost childish and hopeless behavior when presented with adversity. Additionally, Hamlet’s royal upbringing alludes to a…

The ghost is shot from an upwards angle giving him the illusion of dominance that towers over hamlet, which is a nice moment in the narrative. When the directors try to throw in interesting shots like, zooming in on the ghost's lips or shooting, just the actors eyes its distracting because the audience is so accustomed to shot-reverse-shot. It seemed like they tried to fix this with throwing in flashbacks but those fit bulkily into the scene. Overall Kenneth Bragg's version of Hamlet had basic camera work, okay acting, and fantastic music concluding in an okay level of…

Definition 3 seems to be the most apt description of what happens to the players as things get more and more “utterly foolish or unreasonable” and the players act with “extreme folly or unreasonableness” until everything falls apart at the end. If nobody else had witnessed the ghost of his father, then a case could be made for schizophrenia (definition 1) as Hamlet might have Sidhu 2 been having a hallucination. I feel by Shakespeare writing of other witnesses to the ghost, that that makes it clear that the ghost was actually real and not something made up in Hamlet’s mind. Hamlet is depressed and angry.…

A critical lens is a perspective that the reader uses to examine a piece of literature. Different lenses look for unique details and aspects in the text, and help the reader find new information that may have never been discovered had the piece only been read through one single perspective. The archetypal lens is a critical viewpoint which allows the reader to identify places in a story which follow or deviate from universal patterns, also known as archetypes. Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, is a character who, as before mentioned, both follows and deviates from the archetype of the Hero’s Journey.…

Hamlet is very intelligent, he uses his talents as he goes through many changes from a normal young prince to the loving and grief-stricken son of a father to an apparent madman. Any man who goes to such measures to avenge his father and who has such intense feelings shows what a close father=son relationship there must have been. Hamlet must have had intense respect and love for his father in order for him to retaliate in such a…

39-40) Hamlet was not at all surprised when he found out that his uncle murdered his father. Even though Hamlet as well as two other individuals saw the ghost with their own eyes, Hamlet was concerned and had a sense of doubt because he was the only one that could hear the ghost’s voice. The ghost had a propositon with discrete instructions for Hamlet to take revenge out on his uncle. Hamlet could barely believe that the ghost was real of just a figment of his imagination. He even thought that it was just a memory or the devil trying to mislead him while he was in a defenseless state.…

Hamlet 's indecision and continuous delay of Claudius 's murder until the end is explained through several concepts of psychology, delving into his innermost thoughts which act as the driving forces behind his behavior, actions, and attitude towards other characters. From a psychological perspective, Hamlet’s lack of action towards his intended goal is not surprising, especially from a person who shows many symptoms of major depressive disorder including inactivity, thoughts of suicide, frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, agitation, anxiety, and hopelessness. Despite being dead set on getting revenge for his father after he met 'his ghost ' in act 1 scene 4, Hamlet soon began contemplating suicide in his ‘to be or not to be’ soliloquy…
