This process of data analysis will hone in on the issue and build on the foundation set by the diagnosis process. Change cannot take place without first having data to work from. The data allows the change to be measured and show success or failure with the plan being implemented. This change can be seen when utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. While quantitative data is numerical and can be counted” Qualitative data is believed to have great validity and depth” (Pell Institute, 2014).Using different types of analysis will allow the change to be seen from different aspects and make changes as needed as they arise within the process.
Root Cause Analysis Root cause analysis does exactly what the phrase implies. This analysis identifies the root of the issue needed to be changed. Root cause analysis refers to an analytical process which involves rigorous thinking about interrelated cause-and effect relationships within the system that failed (Okes, 2008). This step is necessary when wanting to address the issue as a whole and not just the symptoms of the issue.
