Change Faced By Steve Jobs

The first key point, change happens says to me that you have to know things are changing all around us. A quote from the book was, “The more important the cheese is to you, the more you want to hold onto it.” People change from what they are used to and are comfortable with. The most successful people in the world are the ones who are the ones that make change happen. I really like the story of Steve Jobs who was never complacent with how is company was doing. He always wanted to design new things that were thought to be impossible, but he was willing to change for the good of himself and the world. The problem with Hem in the book is he didn’t want to look for new “cheese", because he was content with what he had, but now it’s gone, and he …show more content…
You have to know your surroundings all the time and know when things aren’t doing so well. Back to Apple, the company wasn’t doing so well without Steve Jobs. They were doing the same old things and selling the same old products, and their company was failing. IBM and Microsoft were innovating within their company and it was paying off. In the book, Sniff and Scurry were starting to notice the “cheese” supply going down and anticipated they were going to run out soon. So, when the day finally came and the cheese was either gone, they put on their shoes and looked for some more “cheese.” The positives for them obviously showed when they found a new supply of cheese. The problem when you don’t anticipate change is you are surprised and stunned when everything of yours is either taken away or is just gone. Hem and Haw just pouted and didn’t do anything about it, which wasn’t helping because they didn’t have any food. Fourth, adapt to change quickly. A quote from the book was, “The quicker you let go of the old cheese, the sooner you’ll find new cheese.” The problem that Haw faced was the Hem didn’t want to change, and that was holding Haw back. Haw was scared to leave his friend or think what might happen if he goes into the maze alone. Sometimes you need to just let those people in your life go, for your own betterment. You need to just keep pushing yourself to become better and the quicker you realize that adapting to change is good, the …show more content…
A quote from the book was, “Smell the cheese often so you know if it’s getting bad.” You have to understand what you’re doing is a good thing for yourself, and the people around. Haw was feeling better almost immediately when he changed. He wasn’t sitting around being lazy all day and feeling sorry for himself. He finally said enough, I’m going change. I’m going to find some new “cheese.” He had to step out of his comfort zone, and work again to find some more “cheese”. He left the past behind him, and looked towards the future. He learned from his past experiences, and kept those in his mind, but he wasn’t going to let that weigh him down any longer. He wasn’t going to get complacent with what he had. He knew he had to work to keep getting more
