When it is happening they often think that it will never end and nothing will ever be normal again. Even then, time passes and things get easier. No one really admits it, but things don’t go back to normal. There is one thing that will never change though and that is change itself. I’m a strong believer in change. It is the only thing one can really expect from life. I’ve often walked into an older family restaurant and have found a picture of the building as it stood 60 years ago. Just as it is inevitable that I had to watch my little baby cousin grow into a toddler, teenager, and young adult. Change is all around us. Some things I could choose to change, but one can only control so much of life. I, like Shepard, have had many people influence my life. The morals and values I hold are no doubt a reflection of my upbringing. Some of Shepard’s critics believe that his story is unimportant because of influences and experiences he cannot
