Lawrence, the president of Downing Digital Healthcare Partners said, “Customers just aren’t aware of the prevalence of sudden cardiac arrest.” Each year in the United States over 424,000 victims are being affected all ages, in Hawaii, Native Hawaiians are 1.7 times (over 70%) more likely to die from heart disease than other race. To prevent this from happening to all citizens, CFL (Certification for Life) wants to increase funding for more access to an AED. Our goal as the CFL is to train citizen into having the knowledge of an AED, improve access of an AED and fund for classes and training for students and staff on campus to have the knowledge react when an emergency happen. Our program wants to get funding to school based CPR/AED education programs to make awareness for heart disease, the program is also allied with programs such as the Medtronic Foundation Heart Rescue Program with the statement of funding for school education program on CPR/AED lessons, the Health Resources and Service Administration with the statement of funding for Rural access to emergency devices and to provide funding for AED/CPR trainings in rural areas, and Cintas Scholastic AED program to provide grants to public school that needs more access to …show more content…
To the victim who struggle from heart very minute is life and death, but when if there is someone who had the knowledge of how to use an AED and does CPR without the right tool, it can be a struggle too, that is why CFL is working with other organizations to fund for more AED for people to access to. To do so, we as CFL plans to have fundraising in school campus and have speeches on why it is important that an AED should be around the campus and speeches about the guides, such as the correct way of using AED in demonstration for students and staff to
