My brother you have answered the call to a vocation described in 1Timothy 3:1 as “good.” Paul says, “If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desires a good work.” The NASB describes it as a fine work. The ESV describes it as a noble task. This work to which you have been called must not to be taken lightly, for you will be will be judged by God with greater strictness. It’s a work that gives you the joy and privilege to stand before God’s people and speak on behalf of God. What an honor to represent the great and awesome God before His people. Yet, this ministry is challenging and difficult. Disappointments and challenges will come for the reason, you are ministering to people and people will be people. I can remember the words spoken many years ago to the new Anglican Archbishop of the West Indies by Dr. Kurtwright Davis who said, “Do not be dismayed when your hand is bitten by the same mouth that it feeds or when you are misrepresented and …show more content…
The word appear actually means to be revealed, therefore the Judgment seat will be a place of revelation. All our actions, thoughts and hidden motives will be reveal before Christ. We may hide our motives from those we minister to, but our true character will be revealed before King Jesus when we stand at the Judgment seat. In light of this fact, I encourage you my brother to please God in every area of your life and ministry. Seek to please God no matter the consequences, seek to please God no matter the rejection, seek to please God no matter the conflict, seek to please God no matter the sufferings, seek to please God no matter the loneliness, seek to please God no matter the discouragement. In all your decisions please God, in your preaching please God, in your friendships please God. In private please God and in public please God. Let your goal in ministry be to please God and your motivation the fact that you must stand before the Judgment seat of
