Local and foreign have different clothes. However, the foreign have adjusted their clothes with respect to the culture of Dubai. In general the Arab men wear a loose, ankle-length white cotton garment called a thobe and the Arab women usually wear an abaya, which covers them from shoulders to feet. Also a headscarf is used by some women. As said there are also different nationalities in Dubai. In general, foreign men wear a tie, long-sleeve shirt, and pants for business. Western women wear western clothing, but are careful to cover their shoulders, arms, and legs.
As said, In Dubai it is a habit for local population to wear traditional costumes. The reasons for wearing these clothes is not only for religious reasons but also for protecting against high temperatures and the climate.
