In today’s highly competitive workplace, confidentiality is important for many reasons. One of these reasons is because failure to properly secure and protect confidential business information can lead to the loss of business or customers. Another reason is because secret information can be misused to commit legal activities, which can lead to costly lawsuits for the employer. Ethics also play an important role on how defining an employee moral judgments about right and wrong decisions. Thinking about a situation from a different ethical perspective help us make the best ethical decision.

He knows how serious this is about protecting intellectual property. He also understands the significance of holding the company’s information confidential. If he was the one chosen among other employees to know this information is because his company trust him. Violating his obligations of confidentiality would also means unrespecting his ethical behaviors as a professional.
