Letter To College

Improved Essays
The past semester at buffalo state college has been a stressful one. The transition of going from high school to college was very different for me. I was very used to someone being on top of me and making sure that I was always getting my work done. So now being in a college world where you are completely dependent on yourself, I see now that you must be far more aware of what is going on around you in order to stay on top of what you are doing and making sure that you are successful in all aspects of college. Although I had an adjustment issue, one of my eldest cousins who lived at home with my family has bipolar tendencies and they can sometimes become very serious. He can become very emotional at times which tends to lead to acts of aggression. …show more content…
Before this email was sent to me I had made myself already aware of the fact that I have not been performing anywhere near my academic capabilities, and i began to plan for next semester in order for this not to happen again. My GPA right now is a terrible example of me and not only does it look bad on me it looks bad on the people that have brought me here, to where I am today. I know that I am able to perform far better than this and maintain a GPA that reflects the schools teaching skills better and reflects how good of a student I can be. Before the dismissal letter was sent I was formulating my schedule and creating ways that I was going to come out with at least a 3.2 GPA and higher next semester. I would love to be allowed to come back to the campus next semester and prove to the school that I am a good student and that I can perform well. I know that this past academic year does not prove to you that I am capable of it but I know that I am and if the chance is given to me I know that I will perform and I will be successful. If the chance is given to me again to attend buffalo state this Fall semester I will make sure to be on my A game and there will be no excuses because I will make sure to get everything that I have to do done not only for my parents and to set a good example for the school, but for myself because I know that I can do it. I had also even spoken to my advisor Janice

He is tense and agitated, and when I try to talk to him he is responding loudly and abruptly. The muscles in his jaw are tensed and his pupils have dilated. His hands are tightly balled into fists and he is leaning over me invading my personal space. By now his behaviour has become aggressive towards me and he has started verbally threatening me. Unfortunately I do not know what has triggered him to become aggressive this time so I do not know what I can do or remove from the situation to try and prevent him getting out of control.…

Thank you for considering The University of North Florida as your home for the next four years. The admissions team is very displeased to inform you that there will not be room here for you at our college. After reviewing your essay and application we were all very entertained but doubtful we would ever be able to meet you. My favorite part of your application had to be when you explained why you didn’t do very well in your Spanish three class, “I got a C- in Spanish because yo no hablo espanol.” All of us who read your application got a kick out of that.…

If I could go back to the past and talk to myself in September 2013, I would tell my younger self to be prepared for the next four years. I would advise myself to plan out my work and actually do assignments ahead of time instead of putting them off until nine o'clock the night before they were due. I would tell myself to not take honors trig because it was too much to handle combined with all of my other classes, as well as saying, that just because it was recommended to take a class, it doesn't mean I should've. I would recommend actually trying to do the workouts for field hockey before preseason. That way it wouldn't be so bad in the future.…

And after that, finally, I came back last Spring 2015. As a result, when I decided to come back to school, The Committee of Graduate School told me that I should improve my cumulative GPA over 3.0, if then, they will allow me to keep going to school from Spring 2016. It means that if I would not improve my cumulative GPA, I would be denied from school right after this Autumn 2015 semester. I know it is a penalty, but it is pretty hard.…

Safety would be my first concern. After making sure the environment it safe, I would talk to the child to get an better understanding of what made them act so aggressively. I would also talk to the child about prosocial behaviors, so the child can get an understanding of what is accept and what is not. My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…

I feel Exuberant knowing I can excel and comprehend on a college level. Over the course of the year I have learned many new styles, tips and guidelines to writing. To (All) the Colleges that Rejected Me In her Op-Ed, “To (All) the Colleges That Rejected Me”, Suzy Lee Weiss argues that colleges lie to applicants with the line: “Just be yourself,” when in reality, they only accept a specific kind of student. Weiss’s argument is weak however, as Weiss fails to use any logos to back up her claim and instead comes off as a close-minded, slightly racist and homophobic privileged teenager simply ranting about not getting in, whom is not the type of student elite colleges seek to accept. Though her argument is weak, Weiss starts off her Op-Ed well, stating in the first sentence: “Like me, millions of high-schoolers… are asking themselves this week how they failed to get into the colleges of their dreams.”…
