They defined boredom as “choosing to do nothing in whatever situation or condition someone finds themselves faced with in life.” Although there were a mixture of positive effects and negative effects from boredom listed on the survey, the majority said that boredom left a negative effect on the body. One surveyor even went to the extent to say they felt “lack of accomplishment” while being bored. Most of the surveyors describe the consequences of being bored to lead to depression, loneliness, overeating, and even poor behavior. With this being said, these people spent their time either on their phone, or sitting around doing nothing while being bored. If a person doesn 't do anything with this free time it can lead to depression, loneliness, overeating, and depression, but if this time is spent doing productive things it can lead to a situation much better than previously
