I don’t think anything should be “English only” and nobody should be pushed to speak another language. People should do what they want to do. There shouldn’t be an official language anywhere. If other make anyplace a English only place, then they’d be taking something very important away from people, people don’t want to put that on anybody. My stand on bilingualism in public life and education is that it’s a great idea to become bilingual, but shouldn’t be forced.
I think others need to respect that people have a different culture than them that has a language different than them which they like to speak. People shouldn’t take that away from others because they think their language is better than Spanish speakers. They might think that their language is a lot better than English speakers but they aren’t trying to take English speakers language away from them because that would be very disrespectful. Therefore, people shouldn’t be making English the official language anywhere, people should be able to choose either to learn English or not
