I remember when I was a little girl being the oldest in the house, always get fussed at for not showing my siblings right from wrong. Being the oldest is the worst thing that can happen to you, OMG you have to do everything and be a leader without messing up. I come from a very strict family that don't like mess ups, even though I try my best to not mess up mostly I do. Having a lot of responsibilities to do is not the best thing, but you have to be responsible living in a house of five people. In our house, my mom don't like coursing, if you ever decide to course you would be punished for one entire month with no access to nothing. I love when holidays come around because we get together as a family a cook a big mean with all my favorite types of food. My favorite types of food is, pasta, crawfish etouffee, and also …show more content…
You couldn't stay out long with your friends, also I couldn't even go to parties. Most of all we had chores if my mom had to tell us to clean the kitchen we was in big trouble. Strict parents are, the worse you have so much responsibility to do. I have been the oldest so I was the one always getting fussed at. Most of all, my parents were just preparing me for life as I got older. It took me a while to understand that they were preparing me for the real word. One thing my mom is against coursing in her house or near her. She would go crazy if she even hear you say one are about to. My mom don't tolerate coursing at all. It's like we had to watch what we say, because we would pick up coursing from our friends at school. My mom would not want us to talk to those type of friends, she would go to school and have the problem resolved. It's hard to not course, because it's fun even though my mom says it's not, it's very disrespectful. So watch what you say in front of her and my dad, well my dad don't make it as a big deal like my mother

Living within poverty level can be a hard day-to-day struggle for anyone. I know this from my personal experiences growing up. Also in the book The Short And Tragic Life of Robert Peace, Jeff Hobbs, the author; describes how Rob and his mother went through life in poverty. Poverty is defined as, "the state or condition of having little or no money, goods, or means of support; condition of being poor" (Dictonary.com, 2017). Independence plays a tremendous role in growing up. As adolescents, we learn how to be independent, from parents, guardians, and teachers, to prepare for adulthood. In the end of my sophomore year of high school, my parents went out of town for a few days to go up to Maine with their friends. They left me and my brothers, who are both adults, home alone. The last time they left for a few days, I had to stay with a babysitter.…

For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

Moving here from North Carolina when I was four changed my life completely, I was away from my family who I lived with my whole life, thrown into a school with a bunch of kids who lived here since they were born and told to “make friends.” This changed the next 13 years of my life to something I can never picture not having. The first four years, both my parents had full time jobs and my grandma helped raise me a lot, she taught me so many manners and how to behave, she even ended up living across the street from me for 2 of those years, they were rough for my parents, new baby, just moving, having to find jobs, making friends, and getting food on the table for me. Thats where my amazing family came in, with bringing home cooked meals…

Well, except for the fact that my mom glared at me whenever my dad would spend time with me. It even got to the point where my dad had to do my laundry in secret because my mom was so suspicious about my dad being around my undergarments. Whenever I would confide in my friends about what was going on at home, they would pray for me and encourage me by saying things would get better. To them, what my mom did seemed to be the climax of a bad family situation and that meant things could only get better from there.…

Moving forward: Growing up was challenging, to say the least. I always felt like an outsider in the home and was treated differently from all the other kids in the family. My mother treated me more like a servant than a child and never showed me any kind of parental love or nurturing. In fact, even as a small child, I knew that I was not loved by her which was an extreme burden to bear.…

Most humans feel the need to be independent in their lifetimes, whether they become too prideful for help or are so controlled they desire to be free from control leading to independence. On average, independence is granted to adolescents in high school. Teenagers learn how to drive, hang out with friends without supervision and are trusted to make their own choices. There is a couple things I could probably tell you about myself like how i’m a major fan of Walking Dead and Law and order or that I have an unhealthy obsession of doughnuts, sushi, and Mexican food. I could go on and on for days about my dog. But the things I could tell you about myself would probably be a paragraph so instead I would like to talk about my family because they are a huge part of who I am today. I am the oldest of eight grandchildren ranging from 21 to 1 years old but if we were standing side by side you would probably think i’m the youngest because i’m so short and people don’t believe me when I say my age. We are a super competitive family, we enjoy staying up till 3 am Saturday night playing multiple games of monopoly or…
