There is a fine line between just doing the job, and doing the job successfully. The same applies when it comes to being successful in college. To be truly successful in college it takes a multitude of steps throughout the way. If you skip some of these steps the entire process will become that much more difficult. But at the end of the day having a plan in place is the most pivotal part of it all. Because when things go southwards and there’s no plan in place, all of sudden before you know it the snowball effect can take place. It’s important to get a head start in your classes by paying close attention during syllabus week because this is where the teacher dishes out all the information that they expect out of assignments, how certain items are weighted and graded, and any certain information giveaways that could be of value down the line. Ultimately to be successful in college it comes down to giving full time and effort as well as total focus and attention to every detail. This can fall into a lot of different categories but ultimately if the work isn’t turned in, then all the work put forward won’t be worth anything. It becomes far too easy to make excuses, to fall behind, or to experience work overload so staying on top of things is very crucial. Things happen and as students with busy lives things come up. So it’s vital to stay in contact with your professor, use your resources to check what you missed the class you were gone, and distinguish what a bad excuse is from a good excuse when you’re providing while you were gone. Don’t expect teachers to have separate expectations for any given student because they’re busier than others. If that individual can find the time to get the work done so can everyone
