Spiritual Laws Of Money

Improved Essays
I 've never bought into the belief that you can 't be spiritual and rich at the same time. A lot of people I know feel that it 's their obligation to be poor because they are so spiritual. They feel like money will corrupt them and turn them into a greedy and unethical person. I feel like making money doesn 't turn into someone like that - you either are someone like that or you are not before money even comes into the equation. That was a thought reverberated in the Spiritual Laws of Money course that I took. If you are greedy and unethical, then you will still be greedy and unethical when you get money. But if you are a kind, loving, and giving person, then money will only multiply your ability to be kind, loving, and giving.

Many people have struggled and struggled with the rationale that they are going to be rewarded, eventually, after they die. For now, they should be thankful for what they have. I think that thought limits people from going after more because they believe that if they start looking for their reward now, they will somehow be denied it later on.

I had a very religious friend read me a passage from the bible that she took to mean rich people are evil and we shouldn 't strive to be rich. I can 't remember what it was exactly, but I remember looking at her thinking, "She 's never going to make a lot of money with that belief."

In any case, I really don 't think God would have a problem with you being rich and helping people in the process. I think it becomes a problem when you are focused on the money and make it something more important than love, kindness, and compassion.

And lastly, there is good old hand-me-down advice from our parents and grandparents who believe that it is better to have little if we want to connect to our spiritual side. This is belief that is so ingrained in them that there is no point trying to tell them

There Are Rich People Who Suck!

Sure, there are some rich people out there who have twisted ethics and do bad things, and they do them loudly. It 's hard not to notice the negative impact they have on the world, and sometimes it 's hard not to be impacted directly by them. But, that 's all the more reason for spiritual people to become rich.

The more rich and spiritual people we have in the world, the more good we can do. For instance, have you heard of the giving pledge? It is a pledge the world 's wealthiest individual take to donate the majority of their wealth to charity work. So, if you get really rich, you could be a part of this pledge and give away most of the money you earn. And why wouldn 't someone who is spiritual and wants to help out the world not want to participate in that? It 's a way to give in big amounts and really make a difference.

Whether we like it or not, money does make a difference! It can help give people a better life. It can help people become healthier. It can help - bottom line.

We have all heard the saying, “Money can’t buy happiness.” But if this is true, why do we devote our lives to the pursuit of wealth? Psychologists, philosophers, and countless others have proposed numerous theories for what factors actually lead to happiness, and whether or not material wealth generates happiness. For example, some believe happiness comes purely from one’s mindset, while others believe behaviors and actions bring about happiness, and some believe a significant portion of happiness is genetic. Nevertheless, experts and ordinary people alike continue to debate the question of how much material wealth contributes to happiness.…

The imbalance can be examined through many different lenses and time periods. Examples can be traced from the days of Jesus to the present time. How is it that in a society with such wealth, there is such grave poverty? If you were wondering which society the question was referring to, Panem or the U.S., this draws a great point on the status of our own economic system. In the Hunger Games, the stark difference between the poor and the wealthy, along with how the economics of Panem operate, creates a great divide between the Capitol and the districts; through ethical analysis, we will examine the divide and what it is included. Using Immanuel Kant’s ethics, we see that everything the Capitol does to the districts is wrong, and provides a small piece of the wedge between the districts and the Capitol. Going by Kant…

The parable of the rich fool, in 12:13-21, warns that material possessions have no eternal significance so we shouldn 't spend too much time worrying about them. When we focus so much on getting lots of material things in life and neglect God 's riches we will find that we come up short before God but our material wealth will now belong to someone else. Immediately following this parable is Jesus ' teaching, and application of the preceding parable, on trusting in God 's provision. Not only is covetousness warned against, but also worry concerning having our needs met. Instead, we should place our trust in God, since He is in control and knows the things that we truly…

In the Spirit of Capitalism, one must generate profit. In Western Society, working hard is an acceptable ascetic technique. and because labor came to be an end, ordained as such by God. This does not change, even for those people who are wealthy, because everyone has a calling in which they should labor, and taking the opportunities for profit that God provides is part of that calling. To wish to be poor is similar to wishing to be sick, and both are morally unacceptable.…
