The Importance Of Being On A Dance Team

Best summed up by an article from the Tab, “There is nothing like being on a dance team. It is one of those things – you can only fully comprehend it if you’re a part of one.” (Pandey,Secrets Everyone In A Dance Team Knows,The Tab) there are so many things that many people outside of the team do not know. Some people think it is easy and that we barely do anything, others are more knowledgeable, but will never truly understand. If you are contemplating trying out for the dance team you have a few things to learn or if you are part of the student body you also have a few things to learn. Dance is a hard sport and being a dancer you put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears to be out on the field or court for about two minutes.

You may not want to do it, but more often than not you will because you have to. There are sometimes however, you will find though when you turn to your captain for the final call they may undermine the coach. What is important to remember in these situations is that your coach is not out there dancing with you and cannot ultimately decide to do something for you. You do not want to make the team and be surprised by the cost, schedule or anything else. You have to understand you have to make a lot of sacrifices for this sport. It is basically a year round sport filled with endless practices, performances and little kid camps. Contrary to what most of the student body seems to believe it is hard work and long days. It is not easy to be a part of the dance team. You will be picked apart and bruised to no end and you have to be prepared for it. Just because there may only be one team which is varsity does not mean that it will be easy to make a varsity sport. You have to be ready and committed to the coaches the sport and your teammates before even trying out for the
