I have self-taught myself in the use of Power Point, over the past 10 to 12 years. I have prepared hundreds of presentations and they have progressively gotten better. If I had been certified in Power Point I would have been able to provide a better-quality product. The ability to be more creative in the presentations would have able to keep the audience’s attention better. Now that I have retired from the Navy, being certified will proved a greater opportunity for me to find a job. Combined with my work experience and being certified I will have a clear advantage over my peers

Being in the Business management pipeline, I feel the ability to insert a multitude of items into my presentations will make them easier to understand.

The strength of my presentation is that it answers two main questions about the subject matter, what it is and who is at risk for this type of injury. It explains what a concussion or TBI exactly does to the brain. The presentation then turns its focus to those at risk, athletes of course, but also others including war veterans affected during combat situations. Another strength is how the visuals are put to use. It combines the pictures and information shown on the graphs to help correlate with the main speaking points for each particular slide.…

Having worked in the fields of education, behavioral and mental health has broadened my perspective on which path I will make the focus of my current goals. However, having such a broad range of experience made it difficult to determine how the knowledge gained from the work I was doing in each field could be translated and developed into a clearer path. Consequently, I placed certain goals on hold, the main one being obtaining a professional license. Recently, I realized that a license was necessary to conduct the type of work in which I wanted to engage. Credentials are essential to my line of work and the plan that I continue to develop for myself.…

It was a late night in Spring when I went to visit my pregnant sister. A few moments after being at her house, she mentioned she was not feeling well. As a concerned aunt to be, my immediate response was that we needed to see a doctor. Considering it was 10 PM there was no way we could have gotten to her OB/GYN, therefore we decided to go to the nearest emergency room. We waited and we waited, filled with anxiety, fear and many mixed emotions.…

“A medical assistant may practice in the United States without either certification, but most employers today require at least one certification” (Adams, 2014). By a medical assistant being certified it shows employers that this person has been through a program that has taught them the essentials to perform their job and be successful at that job. By being nationally certified it makes you a more sought after candidate for the position. “A medical assistant with formal training is almost always compensated on a higher scale than one with no training” (Adams, 2014). To become a medical assistant one must first enroll and complete a medical assistant program through a college, university, or technical school.…

“When I treat other people with kindness and love, it is part of my way of repaying my debt to God and the world for the privilege of living on this planet” (Goodreads 1). This quote, taken from the book Think Big: Unleashing Your Potential for Excellence, shows Ben Carson’s generosity and compassion towards other people. In many of his books, he uses life experiences as examples to teach others, inspiring them to spread joy and love wherever they travel. Carson’s approach on life is unparallel to any other.
