The Importance Of Being An American Generation

This generation sees being an American a lot differently than our parents or maybe even grandparents do. This generation has a view of you have to look a certain way have certain things and do certain things than the earlier generations. In this generation more of a fight or flight instinct comes in. The earlier ones there was not as much crime. In our parents generations the crime picked up but nothing like what has happened now. Our great grandparents had even different concerns and standards to meet to feel like they were an “American”. Every generation has a type of way to be an American it has just evolved over time.
In this generation to be an American you have to stand for the pledge. Also you have to respect those who have served our country. Along with the patriotic stand points there's always the must haves like having a real American identity. Doing things that you have rights to do. Such as freedom of speech right to bear arms and pursuit of happiness. I think this way because my brother was a marine and so was a close family friend. Knowing how hard these people fought makes me respect them even more, if you are an american you have rights brought to you by these

In that generation more discipline was okay and there was less crime. They still believed in using your rights and similar things but at times this was almost looked down on. The right to bear arms was not used a lot unless you lived in that part of town. Less children acted out because of the discipline. Standing for the pledge was not as brought on and respecting troops was not as big. This was only because they did not understand just how much they do and did for us. There was not as many wars going on so they did not understand what it was like. The generations have changed a lot in the years but a lot of the things have been more pushed onto the next generations, such as crime, problems
