One of the most important factors of being an American is learning and understanding our country's history. In 1776 our country was declared independent and broke ground for its people to make their own rules and regulations to live under. With a few additions and revisions to our constitution over the years, we have had one of the most amazing legal backgrounds. As an American we are entitled to freedom of speech, freedom to bare arms, etc. the moment we are born on this country's soil. In other countries of the rights of certain groups are impeded upon by their government's strict rulings. We are extremely lucky to live in a place where we can freely express ourselves and bring new ideas into the world. Many people refer to America as "The Land of Opportunities". This statement is very much true because anyone born in America, or comes to live here can make their life what they want, or completely start their live over on a clean slate. Our country is founded on the rights of humans, making all of these "American Dreams" possible for all who choose to live
