Utopian lifestyles wouldn't work and remain perfect. A Utopia could never stay perfect as said in this quote “Seeking a perfect way of living seems ideal, but humanity itself is imperfect. Even [in] a seemingly perfect society, there will always be problems because of this. In addition, the measures needed to attain such a utopia aren't particularly desirable.” This shows that a Utopian lifestyle couldn't ever be perfect and wouldn't work. And choose wrong?” (P93) This explains that in a utopian world, there is no freedom of choice in anything. “[It is] safer” “Yes” Jonas agreed “Much safer” This quote tells how they did not have choice for a reason, because it was safer and kept the world better and more perfect.
In conclusion living in our society is better in many ways than living in a perfect Utopia. A Utopia would not ever change and perfection is different for everyone. Also relationships in a Utopia, like in (The Giver By Lois Lowry) your spouses are picked for you and you are given children when you apply for them. Lastly, society does not have to be perfect to advance in many ways that would improve our overall society everywhere.
