Back in Spring Quarter 2013 I had the chance to go observe a local high school in the LAUSD, being there helped me led my decision of being an educator even more now. Being able to observe the students helped me see the different student’s behavior that I will need to do work with. I recall when I was there seeing two students who will just not worry about doing their work done and the teacher not doing much to encourage them. After observing those two students it helped me led to the decision on becoming a teacher even more and that is to make a difference in teen’s lives through education. The main reason being is being able to educate the future generations by teaching them their own potential at a young age. By having them learn their …show more content…
Many students tend to learn different but it also depends on how one teaches the subject and most important what is the subject that they will be learning about. I think students learn best when students tend to write notes off the board, give them handouts, and be followed by a small quiz after each lesson. The subject that I want to teach is history which will be a challenge since many people dislike that subject but having a good technique of presenting the subject you can get their attention. For such subject as history I will have the students write notes off the board but at times will have them read a chapter of the book to back up what I have lecture them. The reason why I would not want them to read a chapter is because they will read so much information and some of the main points will not be grasped. Other than just give them notes I will use handouts along with a few assignments and/or projects that way it helps back up what they just learned. In the end of each chapter I will give a test to make sure that the students did get all the …show more content…
The fact that one of the main concept is that they value is equity which is the most important one since that way the learner will know how to do just that in the classroom. While being in CSULA I have seen how professor take the time to push their students to succeed and not letting them just give up. Which is why I want to pursue my teaching credential here at CSULA, because I know that my professors will not let me fail and I can also learn from them on how to push students to their own potential. In my case it will not make a difference if I get diverse learners because I will treat every student the same way and that is by giving them the tools they need to succeed. Overall each individual concept is something that will help me be a better educator when the time comes. The practice that will be given to us such as the self-assessments will help give us a better understanding of what we will encounter. After seeing their framework in more detail I was able to notice it was unique in many other ways it made my decision more clear and which is why I hope that I am able to pursue my teaching credential at Cal State
