Psychiatric Nurse Personal Statement

From early adolescence to young adulthood, I spent the majority of my days in a desultory stupor, struggling to escape the overwhelming surge of uncertainty and oblivion that encompassed my impending future. After years of hiding behind excuses, I was prompted by an overwhelming sense of weariness and anxiety to find within myself a passion that I anticipated to be my life’s work and contribution to society. While I embarked on this path of self-discovery, I was led to the stories of my mother regarding her experiences as a young nurse in Afghanistan. As her intricate memories illustrated a profession filled with both anguish and blessings, I became certain that I had found my purpose within her footsteps, and was prepared to explore my options.
