Essay On Becoming A Financial Advisor

Everyone is destined for their own personal road to success. While this doesn't mean that everyone will be wealthy or gifted with genius-level intelligence, it does mean that if someone follows their dream it can become a reality. For me, I am determined to drive toward my success by becoming a financial advisor. As a child, my vision was based on common professions such as a police officer, doctor, or lawyer. I know now that being a financial advisor is my best interest. Financial advisors are individuals who assist clients in planning and arranging their financial affairs, including savings, retirement, financial portfolios, and taxes. Its best to, "take classes in finance, accounting, business, economics, statistics, taxation, estate planning, investments, stocks and bonds, and risk management,” which will give more insight on the base of the career ("Learn to Become a Financial Advisor Finance Degrees and Careers" 2016). On top of that, the best financial advisors obtain a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification to give themselves competitive edge ("Learn to Become a Financial Advisor Finance Degrees and Careers" 2016). It takes a person with great commitment and a firm backbone to overcome obstacles taken by an individual who can obtain a degree suited for being a financial advisor and pass one of the certifications since "more than 40% routinely fail the test" (Adams, 2010). Beyond how being a financial advisor matches with my interests and skill set that I want to build, I find the educational challenges of becoming a financial advisor intriguing and exciting. Also, to pursue this career path a person must be mentally and physically able to deal with others and their financial needs and health. I'm looking forward to succeeding in this career
