For several years many people believed that the key secret to achieving ones highest creativity was background noise. The human brain has the functionality to multitask, each section of the brain has a specific purpose. According to Merriam Webster, concentration is defined as: 1. “The action or power of focusing one’s attention or mental effort” 2.” Exclusive attention to one object, Close mental application.” So according to text, people should single in their attention and mental efforts on one object. Overall the results of my research came back conclusive, Concurring Students need Background noise and More specifically the beat in music to maintain focus, increase productivity and foster their creativity. My first set of data came from using secondary research. Mainly focusing my studies on persons who used school accounts and mentioned the benefit to them with their school work. By working this way I was able to narrow down the particular target market for the findings to match my research thesis . Out of a total of 25 reviews more than 15 proved that background noise and music is beneficial to keeping their focus. Most found it so useful that all 25 reviews stated they would pay for extra amenities within the app to increase productivity. Secondly I used Social Media polls posted on Twitter and Snapchat. For the twitter polls I found for the question “Do you prefer Loud or Quiet Spaces” 73% Answered they prefer loud spaces Another Poll question asked was as followed. “How likely are you to be productive in a library without your own music playing.” More than 60% of the respondents answered between highly unlikely and least likely while the other 30%-40% answered within highly likely and most likely. Administrating my survey I came to the conclusion that more than 80% of the students who partook in the survey had unanimous responses.
