Of course not everyone has looked in depth into psychology to know what it is really about, but the claim that psychology is just a counseling degree is hindering a lot of jobs that is in the psychology field. It’s very interesting to hear people responses when I ask them what comes to mind when they hear the word psychology and majority of the people responded counseling. I didn’t know that so many people in society were ignorant when it comes to psychology and the things you can do with a psychology degree. And what can you do with any form of a Psychology Degree such, Associates, Bachelors, Masters, and etc.? I found out about Aviation Psychologist. I had no clue at the time about what Aviation was it turns out that Aviation Psychology is one of the most unknown forms of Psychology. Aviation Psychology is when workers in the occupational area use their knowledge of human behavior to participate in a number of duties for airlines, air ports, and government agencies (). Aviation Psychologist are involved in screening applicants for flight school or helping reconstruct events that occurred in before accidents (). Aviation Psychology goes against the stereotype that Psychology is a counseling degree. Yes Psychology does have a great bit to do with counseling, but there are other cool jobs like Aviation Psychology that uses the knowledge of human abilities to fly planes. It takes a lot to have multiple people on a plane that’s full of nerves and doubt, and prove to them that everything is okay. It takes a lot to fly a plane also pilots have to remain calm and keep their composure at all time and Psychology teaches you that it teaches how to breath, so you want have a panic attack. Psychology also helps know the signs of an attack. Psychology helps with everything from breathing to thinking from thinking to walking. A degree in Psychology will help mastering everyday life. A police’s officer primary duty is to enforce the laws that protect people and property in the jurisdiction in which he or she is working (). Nowadays the news broadcast a lot of police beating civilians, but a way to apply psychology to this career would be whenever there is a person committing a crime instead of arguing with them try reasoning with some time people only commit crimes is to receive attention if there were more people reaching out a hand then there could potentially be less violent world. Another way psychology helps with this career it helps to understand why one might have even attempted such a crime. Using a Psychology Degree with being a Police Officer helps to connect with others even if they are inmates it also gives another type of mind to view.
