Take my story, for example, one day I was throwing my standing tucks perfectly. I have been performing this skill since the eighth grade. I would go to cheerleading practice and perform the skill without second guessing myself. The next day, I came into the gym, and would not throw one! It was as if, I completely forgot how to tumble. At times, pulling it into the dangerous whirlpools of the Bermuda Triangle! My mind must be anchored strong and steady to stay on course in the storm of negative thinking. Just as I pull my body back to proper position to make a technical correction, I can pull my mind back the same way by using an anchor. An anchor is a series of thoughts or actions that will pull someone 's mind back to focus and doubtfulness. A person 's anchor will be strong "comebacks" to negative thoughts. Helping your mind return to focus, fearlessness, and doubtless. Examples of strong anchors I will include in my routine is: "breathe, stay on course, I can do this", "breathe, right mind, don 't go there", or "relax, keep it cool, it 's no big deal." Each anchor statement should include breathing and positive self-talk. My anchor should be able to break the downward spiral of frustration, fear, or nervousness, and get my mind back on course. Whenever I feel a block coming on, I will use my anchor to move me into a positive

Why do we down talk ourselves? In Cognitive psychology it’s all about how people process information and what is going on in our minds. Aaron T. Beck assumes that the way we think is how we have an outlook in life so if we have constant negative thoughts, we will live in negativity. Pema explains this throughout the book she constantly says our minds are our worst enemies at times, but that we do not have to live like this. This book is important in the field of psychology, because psychology is the study of the human brain and how it works and this book is not the study of the brain but it is why we do the things that we do.…

The Arrival I had originally planned to travel to Rio on September 5th through September 12th. A perspicacious and experienced hunter named Rainsford accompanied me. It took me around four years to want to get my backhand spring, but when I decided to get it, I was determined and wouldn 't give up until I got it. The fact that I was the only girl on our team that hadn 't got a backhand spring, that was enough motivation to get me to begin my journey in cheerleading.
