Melinda’s artwork represents her growth throughout the story because at the start of the story her art was bad, not very detailed, dark, gloomy. At the midway point of the story her artstyle improved, her art was ok, average, but it was still gloomy and sad but was slowly gaining life. At the end of the story Melinda’s artwork is full of life, happy, detailed and pleasant to look at and it really shows how she has grown not just as an artist but as a person as well.
