Why I Chose Drawing

Art has always been a passion of mine, no matter what the form. It has always been something that can appeal to all tastes, no matter how unusual they may be. I am often working on a collection of art projects ranging from things like drawing and painting, to music and video. Working on projects helps me express my creativity and I also find it relaxing working on things that I enjoy. Out of all the different forms of art I do, drawing is what I work on the most. Drawing is the basis for most art and can be as simple as making marks on a surface. It is one of the most common forms of art and has been around long before civilization when early humans would draw marks on cave walls. When it comes to things like still life works I find the traditional subject matter rather boring and do my best to form unusual concepts. While I do enjoy nature and landscape images, I prefer to get inspiration from actual sources and being stuck in a concrete building is not the best to explore nature. This is why my works are usually of people, sometimes it might be a character from a show I like, or a popular celebrity, and other times it might just be a random person I see around me. By working constantly at it I hope to better my overall process and improve my efficiency. Not only do I want people to see an image but experience the emotions I placed within. Portraiture is a perfect way do this because emotions reflected throughout the human existence are easily recognizable. Even from birth children are able to understand the looks and sentiments received from their parent.
