Throughout a history every person has contributed to their society through their own specific knowledge and ability. Any type of profession and career has their own influence to the society which improves and evolves the world in all aspects. One of the many factors that have an important impact in society is construction. The one building rises with the help of a large group of project team consists from many different fields, including designers in both interior and exterior, engineers, quantity surveyors, managers and so on. But, in this essay I am going to demonstrate on architectural engineers and their importance of their roles and responsibilities. Building engineers perform as an architect in a construction designs, they create the design of buildings that is not simply construction, but also offer inspiration and delight. The design their making should exactly fit the standards and requirements of the client. The outlook of the design is important; as well the building must be suitable in the environment, enrich the space, complement their site, and resistant to the climate and atmosphere. In order to provide the needs, the architectural engineers visit the site to review the existing conditions and take built measurements. On the site they consider on orientation, cool breeze access, solar access, views, overshadowing by landforms, trees and buildings, slope, soil type (geotechnical report), bushfires risks, storm water drainage, access and transport, services (power, gas, phone, water, sewer)… which are very important to build a safe and adequate building. From this we can understand that architectural engineers do more than just designing, they work as geologist either. Relating to the survey they will produce reports and environmental statements detailing how the project will be done and what areas it will affect. Therefore it is important to understand the fundamentals of physics and how physics can be applied to structures and buildings as an architectural engineering. Forces, motion, loads and structures are all essentials of buildings that are safe and practical. In this environment of continuously changing pressure, wind movement, temperature and humidity the construction must be fixed and rigid in order to provide a comfortable living environment over these external variables. Structures should deal with downward forces created by gravity and should withstand the forces of compression, tension, bending...etc. The great and simple example of physics in construction is arches. Since the beginning of Roman Empire, arches have been used to support weigh over large spans of areas by balancing out all forces eliminating tensile stresses. As the forces in arch are carried toward the ground, the arches will push outward at the base and as the height of the arch decrease the outward trust increases.
