1. Introduction
Anthropometrics is a Greek term meaning “man measure”. To appreciate anthropometrics you must be able to understand how you can relate your own body features to others in terms of: size, shape, strength etc. Anthropology is not just restricted to biological features such as: human nature, evolution or genetic, it is also concerned with the social aspects of live. Aspects such as religion, politics and languages are elements that are not always associated with anthropometrics.

When the investigation took place, the participants may have been tired, lazy or they may have read the readings incorrectly which could all lead to inaccurate data. From table 2, it can be identified that for all measurements the male’s averages are significantly larger than the female’s. Various reasons could explain this difference: genetics, evolution or the fact there was twenty-two males and only six females present. Human error plays a crucial role when using mechanical devices as one could easily misread the data and record the incorrect figure.
4.2.2) The age range.
This investigation was dealing with twenty-nine participants ranging from ages between 18-20. If this investigation was to be done again, a wider spectrum of ages would benefit this investigation procedure as the data collected would include different measurements due to age which affects human body measurements. A human will constantly grow until the age of twenty-five (approximately) and from that age the heights and measurements will begin to decrease.
4.3) Other factors that can lead to inaccurate results
Apart from the obvious factors, age, gender and tiredness, there are some other factors that could undoubtedly affect this investigation. Ethnics is a main reason for potential inaccuracy in data investigations.
For example, the Irish and British are relatively the same when it comes to the anthropometric data but if there was to be a population from The Netherlands, they would distort the results due to their above average height. A population from Vietnam would also distort the results due to their below average
