A stallion named Creshendo who was abused got relocated to a new owner named Dawn Mclean. Dawn was a very depressed person, who needed a lot of help getting over her depression. Creshendo needed help as well and he was a very restless and aggressive horse. Dawn knew she had to be strong for him, overtime Dawn helped Creshendo and he helped her. They both ended up happy and healthy with each other. This story just proves the idea that animals really can help with anything.(health.com) After a woman moved home from therapy for depression, no one was there for her and she really needed someone. Her lab chow mix saw the tears in her eyes and licked them away, he cuddled her and wouldn't let go. The dog was trying to say that he loved her and he didn't want her to cry. A man named Eric, who was very unhealthy had Diabetes and was spending a lot of time on his couch. His doctors knew that after his surgery he had to have an active lifestyle,so they set him up with a dog named Peety. Peety helped him exercise and he become a very fit athlete. I think that what this dog did with this man is simply amazing, he helped save his life and his money.(cdc.gov) Several studies show that dogs can be a huge motivator to get people exercise, “You need to walk, and so does your dog,” said Rebecca A.Johnson, a professor at University of Missouri. Some research proves that people that walk their dogs are more active than people who don’t have dogs. Getting a dog and walking it is proven to increase average walking time by 30 minutes per week. Some older people like to walk, so dogs can be better walking and exercising partners than other people. One study shows that the people who picked dogs to walk with showed a huge fitness improvement over the people who picked a human. (Parker-Pope,Tara) I think that if you need help losing weight and staying healthy you should totally get a dog, it will help so much in your life.
Whether it’s sniffing out people and weapons, to helping people through their depression, and even keeping people off the couch, animals can help humans in many different ways. Animals have touched my heart so much, they stay by people’s sides when they
