Animal Usage in the Military is Inhumane
Animals came to this world the same way humans did, with no rights, or obligations. Through centuries, humans learned skills to live in the world, to hunt and to love. Humans also learned to hate which caused conflicts between other nations. Humans found a way to use animals as weapons, they trained them to kill and to hunt enemies. According to the article “Animals and World War I”, says, “Over 16 million animals served in the First World War, were used to transport communication and companionship”. An estimated 1.2 million horses, donkeys, mules and camels carried food, water, ammunition and medical supplies to men at the front and approximately 200,000 pigeons carried messages. Service dogs are dogs trained to help wounded veterans, whether they have PTSD, a visible injury like a missing limb, or an invisible one like a fractured vertebrae. Most dogs know about 100 commands and some others know even more. They can pick things up, turn lights on and off, assist with balance, and help the veteran with other everyday tasks. They can help calm the veteran if they are anxious and they can form a barrier against crowds so that the veteran won’t get overwhelmed. Sometimes even just the mere presence and company of a dog will soothe someone and ease their stress or anxiety.…

I plan to write about animal production because the issue of food and it’s ability to be sustainably produced is a current issue that I am interested in. This issue relates to sustainability because if food, live stock, is continually produced at the same rate resources like land, water, and air will be scarce and the damage that animal production will cause will be irreversible. I have applied the Twelve Tests of an Arguable Issue and have been able to answer yes to each question. I would first introduce this issue to an audience who knows nothing about it by bringing up products that the general audience both in the states and internationally consume in order to be more relatable. I would bring up brands like McDonalds or Taco bell…

Labradors and lesser energy driven dogs are ideal for their use in sniffing for bombs because if a bomb is found they would rather the dog not be so anxious to paw and possibly cause a form of an explosion. The level of dog training is being raised every day. It is essential that law enforcement is capable of performing their jobs at a high…

I think that people should be able to have service animals besides dogs and miniature horses because all service animals are helpful and because there are many different needs. First of all, service animals are helpful because they can do many different jobs. One extremely helpful service animal is the capuchin monkey that is small and can hold and use small things such as remotes and drinks. According to Monkey Helpers “Capuchins are small, easy to train, and able to bond, or form relationships, with humans.”…
