Having a family of 3 kids and a fiancé is no easy task to afford on a construction workers salary so trying to find a way to afford college and not neglect my other responsibilities was key to being able to make school happen. The degree that I want to pursue is Occupational Health and Safety, from the research that I have done, I came up with the best school in Missouri to get a degree in Occupation Health and Safety was the University of Central Missouri. Getting a four-year degree from this school was going to cost $79,434 without scholarships or grants, which breaks down to $19,858 a year (Cable News Network, 2016). Compare that to going to my school of choice Columbia Southern University. A four-year degree from my school will cost $25,200 without scholarships or grants, which breaks down to $6,300 a year (Columbia Southern University, 2016). These numbers were staggering to me and made my decision to enroll in the online college of Columbia Southern University extremely easy.
Deciding to enroll in an online school instead of a brick and mortar college was truly easy. With my lifestyle and family life, I would never be able to keep up with school, work, the bills, and family time if I was to attend a brick and mortar college. Online College has so far been an amazing experience, the convenience of being able to do my lessons at night while everyone is asleep of early in the morning has made learning and getting homework done so much easier. The ability to slow down my pace of learning and the cost of tuition being so reasonable my college experience has been really great so

As an English professor at the University of Virginia, Edmundson experienced a front-row view seat to the changes that were happening around the university. Throughout his essay, Edmundson gives his views and thoughts of how the college experience and expectations of those attending college have changed over the decades around the university he teaches and around the world. While these changes that Edmundson observes were probably somewhat of a shock during the seventies, these changes are needed to make the college more competitive in todays fast-past society. The topic of online education has many controversies as to if it’s better, or worse than in-class education. In my personal opinion, however I believe that it’s better only when you have dedicated students.
