My diligence, determination, and perseverance continues to motivate me to strive for excellence in my work and school life. Being well-organized and a perfectionist by nature, I take great pride in the quality of my work. However, being a perfectionist also means that often times I spend more time on an assignment or spreadsheet (than I should) to ensure that it could not have been “better”. In effort to create perfection, I will concentrate 100% of my focus on one item at a time. On top of being one-track minded, one of my biggest flaws is that I cannot say no. This opportunity has allowed me to create a more balanced routine as well as reduce the potential of burnout due to overload. This being said, it also reduces the number of days that I am absent. Another opportunity provided through my employer are stress management programs. I participated in several of these programs which taught me relaxation, time management, and positive-thinking techniques that I continue to use to this day. The two significant threats to a healthy work-life balance is technology and an unhealthy work environment. Technology is a continuous distraction throughout the day. Whether it is communication (text, emails, or calls), social media, or news feeds, it is constant digital stimuli. Even more so, with my co-workers frequent absenteeism, there are constant interruptions from those needing assistance with things my co-workers would typically process. This creates additional stress when I cannot complete my own tasks while covering for those who are out, and also requires me to work overtime in order to complete my responsibilities. When work requires additional time and focus, my schoolwork receives less attention and quality. It is an endless cycle that manifests burnout and
