One can say that we often are seeking approval from others in order to have a sense of belonging. For example, my daughter goes to one of the top colleges in the country. Unlike her peers it wasn’t her ability to pay for her education what got her accepted in the school but with her intelligence she earned a sit there. The majority of the kids at her school clearly belong to a higher socioeconomic status than my daughter. Even thought, my daughter feels comfortable in that environment, I cannot help to notice that often she chooses to buy clothing and accessories that are out of range for her income. All brand name “things” that are trending among the students in her school. She doesn’t want to look any different from her peers and that makes her spend money that she doesn’t really have. I guess that by dressing similarly gives her a sense of belonging to the
