In science, I’ve been taught to go about a problem in a logical order and in a step by step fashion while keeping a level head. I have applied this skill in a number of situations through-out the semester where it has helped the group to think a step of the project through all the way before jumping into it. For example, I had brought up the idea of doing a parody Dove Beauty campaign video which everyone seemed to love. While I was thinking small scale with one fruit or vegetable, the group got excited and started thinking of bigger ideas. It got to the point where I withdrew myself from the conversation and wrote a few questions about the filming process, location, and props. I then started asking my team about the details of the project, but after a few questions we agreed we didn’t have the props, location or technological resources to do this elaborate video in the timeframe we had. In the end, we dropped the idea and agreed to focus more on the project and presentation. Despite the failed launch of this video, the situation worked out in a positive manner as my sequential thinking saved us possibly hours of work on a video that would have failed. I f I hadn’t gone though the idea, step by step, with a level head, we might have tried to go through with the video to have it fall apart after hours of planning, and filming. To speak up like this took a lot of courage for me, but it worked out for the

The images and words used in this logo enable consumers to understand the meaning; although, improvements can be made to ensure the message is conveyed effectively. The main elements of the logo; a carrot, the world, and text, keep it from being too complicated, however the simplicity almost hinders how well the message is expressed. Without reading into the logo too much, the reader can understand the main idea because of the simple design and layout. “Eating” means to eat fruit and vegetables, which links to the carrot on the side of the logo. “Globally” refers to the actual world, and links to the picture of the Earth at the top.…

Using the 5 dynamics tool, I discovered several working style characteristics about myself that I really had not previously thought about. The application of this new knowledge will improve the way that I work with other people in my education, my career and in my personal life. For example, I learned that if I partner with others whose strength and weakness are different from mine, working together as a whole we will obtain better results than we will if we work separately. Furthermore, I learned that each team member brings different strengths to the project thereby producing a more balanced result. Inspired by a forsaken orange that sat in a North Carolina parking lot, Jonathan Bloom wrote American Wasteland to examine the growing problem of food-waste in America. I think Bloom did a tremendous job by presenting this looming issue. His numerous anecdotes pertaining to food-waste creates an innate sense of relatability, which in turn direct readers’ attention to the statistical and logical presentations of the issue. This is an impressive feat because Bloom avoided coming off as preachy or judgmental in a book that attempts to raise awareness of something that general Americans have already decided it’s not important (xvi). As a result, Bloom’s systematic way of examining every aspect of America's habit of wasting food comes off as interesting…

Tesco, the biggest British grocer, sells its “wonky” foods successfully in parts of Europe, but hasn’t been really successful in its home country and said that the the British people simply aren’t ready for “wonky” food. However, Mitchell believe that ugly food will be bigger than organic food because it is cheaper than mainstream price rather than more expensive.
