Students don’t know how to look for a job interview and they also don’t know how to spend their money properly. In school students mainly learn math, literature, history, and they do, choir (some schools), art, and gym. What they don’t learn about is how to survive in the real world. For example they don’t know how to pay taxes they don’t know how to cook and they don’t know how to use checks. So sure math and literature are helpful to life but in school we never really learn how the real world works. Students won’t be prepared for college or the stress of the real world since teachers never teach about any of it. This is important because students can be robbed of their money since they don’t know how to use a budget or they could cause a fire in their shelter since they don’t know how to cook. Some schools have tried to teach about the knowledge to the outside world, but not all of the ways they have tried have been a…

Many would agree that school is important, including myself. However, just because it’s important doesn’t mean it’s always pleasant for the students (or teachers, apparently.) In fact, sometimes, besides school being an unpleasant experience, it can ultimately end up being a big waste of time. Not just for the student, or even the teacher, but everyone that attended a school that didn’t care about their students.…

“School”, a word that many young children and adults hate to hear or speak. In elementary and high school, students attend classes seven hours a day, five days a week, nine months out of the year. Going to an institution of education is a youth’s full time job. Learning becomes the only thing important in their lives and they are required to devote a large majority of their time to it. Spending almost 12 years of my life in a school, it has had a large influence on my life. All of this exposure to education has shaped me into who I am today, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.…

School is a place where we learn abundance amount of material that could help us become successful. Yet, is school the only place where we can learn what is required to be successful? It is often debated whether we can still learn what we learn in school outside of school. Some people say that children don’t need teachers to teach them. They can teach themselves in a better way than anyone could. They can figure out how to teach themselves and learn from their own mistakes. John holt in his article “School is Bad for Children” argues this point by saying that instead of traditional school, “let the child learn what every educated person must someday learn, how to measure his own understanding, how to know what he knows and doesn’t know” (Holt).…

School ruins books for kids. Or, at least, it ruins books for some kids. For instance, I’m sure everyone has noticed that as kids move up through the school, more and more start to despise reading, and I can’t blame them. Schools are supposed to be places where students learn to love reading, places where everyone has a book in their bag that they pull out and read voluntarily. However, the only items I see most students pulling out from their bag voluntarily are their computers and phones.…
