I. Friends
1. Proverbs 13:20– “He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Application Statement: An adolescent needs to know that his friends reflect either who he is or who he will become.
2. Proverbs 17:17– “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Application Statement: Adolescents should be reminded that everyone needs friends during good times and bad times and that they need to be there for their friends especially in the bad times.
3. Acts 5:29– “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than man.” Application Statement: Teach an adolescent to choose friends whom they know would stand with them in tempting situations …show more content…

Application Statement: Teach adolescents to be the friend that builds up and helps to strengthen his other friends in the Christian walk.
II. Dating

II Corinthians 6:14– “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” Application Statement: Adolescents should be aware of the dangers of “missionary dating” almost always ends in failure. Whether it’s in business, a friendship, or a dating relationship, it can never be where it should be unless both people are born again Christians.
11. II Timothy 2:22– “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” Application Statement: Teach adolescents to really consider their motives before beginning a dating relationship.
12. Proverbs 4:23– “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Application Statement: Teach adolescents to be very careful giving affection to people from the opposite sex, because the heart influences everything else in life and should be
