It is 5:59 am, the air is crisp, the fog line is low upon the grassy field, and whispers of chatter between comrades. "Company Attention" echoes the first sergeant voice thru each platoon of soldiers standing tall ready to begin training. As a lower enlisted soldier in the unit, I was always taught to lead front the front. What is leading from the front you may ask? In its simplest form; it's being that walking, living, breathing impressionable example for your subordinates to emulate, respect, and most of all trust. As a leader you must be fair and honorable in all that you endeavor to achieve with each member of your organization.

Studies have shown there are many different learning techniques but in our line of expertise there are only two primarily. Kinesthetic learners commonly known as “hands on learners”, soldiers in this category learn by demonstration and application. The other learning style that is a complete contrast to this style is a reflective learner, also known for their vivid imaginations and analytical viewpoint. Getting to know each individual’s learning technique of your squad, and knowing which learning technique they will be most receptive too is extremely important. “Competence is my watchword. My two basic responsibilities will always be uppermost in my mind: accomplishment of my mission and the welfare of my soldiers” –Non-Commissioned Officers
